Sow Late April – July, 5cm (2in). deep, 15cm (6in). apart, allowing 45cm (18in). between rows.
For an earlier crop, sow under cloches from late March onwards.
Harvest: Seed sown under cloches will be ready to start picking in June, and May-sown crops in late July.
Pick when young and pencil thin.
