An alternative to water cress, American or Land Cress does not need copious water as it is grown under normal conditions.

It has a strong flavour like water cress.

Sow the seeds 1cm deep in rows 30cm apart in March for summer use, in September for winter cuttings.

This variety prefers a shady spot and watering in dry spells.
