‘Chameleon’ has striking leaves, which first appear above ground in late spring or early summer, then rapidly create a dense ground cover of red, cream and green foliage. If the colouring seems garish, grow in shade, when the red fades to leave a pretty gold-edged foliage plant.

The flowers are simple, white with prominent centres.

Plants spread vigorously on moist ground by underground stems, so they are best planted where they can meander among other moisture-loving plants in a bog garden, a permanently moist border, or beside a pond.
