Lonicera Nitida ‘Baggesen’s Gold’ is a dense evergreen shrub. Its colourful foliage is a pale yellow in summer and a warm bronze in winter.

Lonicera makes an excellent evergreen hedging plant, ideal for hedges up to 5ft high.

Although it grows rather straggly when first planted it clips well and quickly forms a formal hedge as neat as box hedging , in fact it was commonly know as poor mans box.

It’s also useful for elaborate topiary shapes as its twiggy growth is quite supple and can be easily trained when young.

It thrives on most soils in sun or shade and will benefit from regular trimming to retain its shape.

Has received an RHS award.
