INDOOR FORCING .
Select clay or plastic pot with a drainage hole, ensuring good drainage by putting crocks at the bottom.
Plant the bulbs, 1 – 5 per pot, up to their necks in fresh potting compost and leave the tips of the bulbs below the rim of the pot.
Water well and place the pot in a shady garden spot covered with 10 cm of soil or keep the pot indoors in a frost free, dark place where the temperature does not exceed 9 degrees centigrade.
Take care that the soil remains moist and cool.
After a minimum cold period of 11 weeks the pot can be brought into the living room, but do not do so until the buds are 3 – 4 cm high if you want the best result. A cool temperature e.g. 18 degrees centigrade will prolong flowering.
When planted in hyacinth glasses they must have an identical period in the cold and dark.
