This is a variety that produces the same onion as White Lisbon but has been selected specifically for its winter hardiness making it suitable only for autumn sowing for a spring harvest.
The onions that are produced have long white stems with bright green tops and are slow to form a bulb, which contains a delicious mild flavour.
One of the most popular crops for the gardener, onions are a huge must for any allotment holder or for the gardener who has their own little vegetable garden at home, as they are so versatile and can be used for a variety of different things.

August to October.
WHERE TO SOW
Outdoors , sow seed thinly into shallow drills 1.5cm (1/2in) deep, with rows spaced 30cm (12in) apart.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
Outdoor sowings can be pulled and used as required the following spring. Plants may benefit from cloche protection during severe winter weather.

March onwards the following year.
