Liatris grows with stiff, upright stems and produces bottlebrush flowers in summer.

These open from the top downwards, above a rosette of grassy foliage.

‘Kobold’ is a compact variety with mauve-purple flowers producing Long-lasting spikes of deep magenta flowers from August to September.

This exotic-looking perennial will bring a vertical accent and late summer colour to the middle of a sunny border.

It makes an excellent cut flower and bees and butterflies love it, too.
