Chattahoochee or woodland Phlox has tall, willowy stems ending in large heads of mid-blue flowers with purple eyes.

It likes a position sheltered from the wind (the tall, top-heavy stems are prone to breaking with the size of the flowers) and a well-drained soil that doesn’t dry out.

The flowers have a wonderful fragrance. About 25cm (10″) or so tall and grows as a clump, not flat and spreading.

It holds an Award of Garden Merit.
