Papaver Orientale ‘Red Rumble’ is a perennial that is sure to stand out in any border.

It produces fat buds that burst into extra-large flowers with sumptuous, scarlet petals like crumpled silk.

Dark blotches on the petals are complemented by a dark central boss.

Each bloom spans up to 15cm across and stands tall on strong stems above clumps of finely divided, bristly foliage with a bushier habit than many other varieties.

 

Cut back after its first performance to encourage a second flush of blooms.
